Lavender Bath Bomb

Ingredient Series: Lavender

Lavender is known for its soothing and relaxing properties. What most people don’t realize is lavender has been around for centuries and is grown all over the world. There are over 45 species of lavender.  Lavender is a hearty plant, and depending on the species of the flower and where it is grown, the scent will differ ever so slightly. At Enfusia we use six different types of lavender in our “lavender”.  It’s quite complex and nearly impossible to duplicate, although I’ve been told some have tried.

Lavender is known for its ability to help relax the mind and improve the quality of sleep, especially deep sleep, also known as slow-wave sleep. This is linked to the flower’s impact on the nervous system. During slow-wave sleep, your muscles become completely relaxed and your heart rate slows. This is the time where your body restores, heals, and recharges itself. Without proper slow-wave sleep, you’re left fatigued and with a weakened immune system.

Lavender can also help clear your mind of negative thoughts. It is commonly used in meditation techniques, and its essential oils are used in aromatherapeutic remedies all over the world.

Lavender contains natural organic compounds in its leaves and flowers. The topical application of its oil can soothe the body and mind by relieving anxious thoughts and balancing the mood. Lavender contains antioxidant components that can impact the endocrine system to lower stress hormone levels in the body.

Today, we are all searching for reliable ways to relax the body and mind, and lavender just happens to take care of both. Add Enfusia’s lavender bath soak and/or bath bombs to your bathwater, and take a nice long soak to start taking advantage of the many benefits. Your senses and skin will be delighted.
