AMERICAN WOMEN’S BUSINESS DAY – DEBRA MYERS, Founder of Enfusia

Nothing is more inspiring than watching an entrepreneur blossom. Entrepreneur.com states that there are 10.6 million women owned businesses in the United States. Women owned businesses employ 19.1 million workers and create $2.5 trillion in sales. Now that’s impressive!

Since today is American Women’s Business Day, we want to share a little bit about Debra Myers, the founder and energy of Enfusia. Each day is a great day in the eyes of Debra and her sights are set on taking Enfusia to the next level in sales, awareness, compassion, leadership, and product creation. She can pretty much run circles around any one of us and will cheer us on as we try to keep up with her!

Debra’s business philosophy is strong in leadership and her care for the employee growth is outstanding. From her kitchen, to craft shows, to a full blown business, Debra continues to be strong in product creativity with new bathtime additions each year. From Bath Bombs (including Zombie Brains & Pumpkins), Muscle Soak, Body Scrubs, Bath Salts, Bee Friendly Lip Care, Talc-Free Powder, Eau de Parfum, Fragrance Roll On, Body Mist, and Cocoon Baby brand, her bath products are growing quickly in popularity.

Just a few months back, Community Impact, a local Houston newspaper, wrote an article highlighting Debra and Enfusia’s growth history. As you read it, we hope you will be as inspired as we are with what one woman can do with her time, energy, and ideas. Thank you for all you do for the community, Debra!

Avoid These Chemicals!

Posted by Debra Myers on Tuesday, August 09, 2016

As "green beauty" became more popular, many commonly used ingredients were discovered to actually be harmful chemicals. Here are a few commonly used chemical ingredients you should watch out for and avoid:

  • Aluminum Zirconium: Used in anti-perspirant to stop sweating, aluminium is a well-known neurotoxin that can cross the blood-brain barrier.
  • Dioxins: Known to be really toxic, once dioxins are in your body, they usually stay in your fat cells for years. Dioxins are known to cause cancer, liver damage, and developmental issues.
  • Formaldehyde: Used as an embalmer and also as a great preservative since it kills most bacteria. Unfortunately, it’s also a known carcinogen.
  • Lead: Lead is a toxin that affects multiple organ systems.
  • Parabens: Used as a preservative. Parabens can mimic estrogen and have been found in breast tumors. It is also can be a skin irritant.
  • Phthalates: Widely used in a variety of every day products, phthalates are endocrine disrupters. Phthalates can affect your fertility, metabolism, immune system, brain function and early development. Phthalates are most known for affecting development of children.

Keep yourself and your family healthy by avoiding products with any of these ingredients in them. All of Enfusia's products are made without any of these harmful chemicals. Get your Starter Gift Set or try one of our Hello! Introductory Sets to get started on becoming a healthier "you".

Moisturize Deep with Avocado Oil

Posted by Debra Myers on Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Enfusia is here with another ingredient spotlight on one of our most magical and mighty ingredients, avocado oil!

Avocados are so much more than a delicious topping on tacos. The oil that is stored in the rich flesh of the avocado is used as a dynamo skin care ingredient found in a wide spectrum of products from lotions to shampoos, and even bath salts. Here is a quick run down of all the benefits of this mystic oil.

Avocado oil is very rich in vitamin E which helps your skin remain smooth, soft, and free of inflammation and itchiness. Also, thanks to vitamin E, avocado oil absorbs rapidly into skin, making it an ideal ingredient for lotions and soaps, as the benefits of the oil get into the deeper layers of the skin instead of simply sitting on the top layer. Another beneficial quality of avocado oil is the presence of monounsaturated fats which have been proven to have antimicrobial qualities, speed cell regeneration, as well as fight free radicals to help your skin keep feeling and looking its very best.

Here at Enfusia one of our favorite products that features avocado oil is our Aloe & Avocado Bath Soak with Benefits. In this luxurious soak aloe and avocado oil are expertly blended to create a soak that soothes, heals, and protects the skin simultaneously while avocado oil provides rich moisture to each and every patch of troubled skin. Meanwhile, as our Aloe & Avocado bath soak does all the hard work, you are lounging in a warm bath being transported to a lovely land of relaxation in your very own tub!

So go ahead, get extra guacamole on your burrito, and look for avocado oil in Enfusia products such as our lotions and our Bath Soaks with Benefits!

Chamomile: Nature's Powerhouse

Posted by Debra Myers on Tuesday, June 21, 2016

You probably know that all of our Enfusia products are jam-packed with wholesome, natural, and cruelty-free ingredients that are good for your skin, but do you ever wonder what the benefits of each ingredient are specifically? If so, fret no more, Enfusia is here with an ingredient spotlight on one of our favorite and most powerful ingredients . . . Chamomile!

Chamomile isn’t only useful for a calming sleepy-time beverage (chamomile tea, anyone?), it is also one of the most widely used and well document medicinal herbs in the world, sometimes even being referred to as “herbal aspirin” due to it’s anti-inflammatory qualities. It’s no wonder chamomile has been a staple in beauty and health routines for thousands of years, in fact, historians have found ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics showing Egyptian noble women using chamomile in their own skin care routines!

Chamomile is certainly a powerhouse of a natural herb that’s good for your skin. In clinical trials Chamomile has been shown to: soothe rashes, dermatitis, and eczema, decrease anxiety, ease arthritis, and even calm teething babies! Bath and body products that include Chamomile are ideal for those who have more sensitive or problematic skin due to chamomile’s soothing and anti-inflammatory nature.

Here at Enfusia we harness the soothing powers of chamomile in our safe and natural baby product line, Cocoon Baby. Chamomile is present in our Cocoon Baby gentle body and hair wash, Cocoon Baby talc-free baby powder, and our Cocoon Baby gentle moisturizing lotion . Despite the name, Cocoon Baby products are not solely for the little bundle of joy in your life, they are absolutely suitable for anyone who wants to take extra care of their own sensitive or problematic skin. Cocoon Baby products smell wonderful, (and thanks to chamomile and other safe, natural ingredients) soothe all your itches, and make your skin feel splendid, as nature intended.

Here at Enfusia helping our customers take care of their skin with products that are safe, natural, and cruelty-free is our passion, that’s why we use ingredients, such as Chamomile, that are good for your skin, good for the environment, and safe for the whole family.

The sweetest season! Fall scents are here for Bath!

Posted by Emily Talbott on Wednesday, October 01, 2014

We at Enfusia look forward every year, like many of you, to the wonderful fall season. Apples, pumpkins, and winter squashes fill our tables, and the scents of Autumn Sugar and Dragon's Blood bath bombs and bath soaks fill our headquarters!

Dragon's Blood Bath Bombs are freshly made and curing in production.

Our bath bomb production room has started making these delightful bath bombs which so many of our customers look forward to year after year by the trayful! We are shipping them out as fast as we can make them to stores near you.  The sweet vanilla sugar scent of our Autumn Sugar bath bombs always makes me crave cookies! Fortunately we usually have a couple on hand here at the HQ.

Dragon's Blood's scent is more complex, made up of aromatic tree resins including the Dragon's Blood extract itself, which promotes wound healing. Drop one into the tub and restore yourself!

As the weather cools and the days grow shorter, I hope you will take advantage of this wonderful time of year and enjoy many restorative baths. I truly believe that taking a little time for a good soak will make your life healthier and happier! We can all use a little stress relief in our day, and aromatic baths are one of my favorite ways to decompress and destress.

They're only here once a year!

Happy Fall!

The DOs and DON'Ts of Body Scrubs

Posted by Emily Talbott on Monday, September 01, 2014

Body scrubs are a great way to exfoliate dry skin and make you super smooth and silky! A good scrub has a mix of "scrubbing elements" like salt or sugar and moisturizing elements like natural oils of Almond or Argan.

DO pick a scrub with natural ingredients! You don't want to rub chemicals like phthalates or parabens directly into your skin!

DON'T use a body scrub on your face. Your facial skin is far too sensitive for a body scrub's coarse exfoliants. If you would like to exfoliate your face, look for a dedicated face scrub which will have very fine exfoliants.

DO follow your scrub with body lotion or oil. This locks in the benefits and keeps your skin smooth and happy!

DON'T scrub every day. Your skin will thank you! Those with sensitive skin should use a lighter touch with scrubs. Use your best judgement, but no more than twice a week for most skin types.

Do try out your scrub on a small part of your body and wait 24 hours to see if you have a reaction to the ingredients. This may seem like a pain, but your skin will thank you.

DON'T scrub on freshly-shaved parts of the body, or anywhere "sensitive." You will be happy you didn't. You can scrub before shaving, but don't overdo it.

Enfusia's scrubs were designed to be a perfect product for those of you looking for a combination of a natural scrub that moisturizes as it strips away dead skin. Try the Revitalizing Mint or Chakra Coffee scrubs for smoother skin today.

Enfusia’s Sweetest Treats - Bath Cupcakes; Fizz & Foam Bakery Goodness

Posted by Emily Talbott on Friday, August 01, 2014

Like many of you, I have a very well-developed sweet tooth. I’m a cake addict, hence the many miles of running.  I’ve always loved cake so naturally I love cupcakes! I love visiting bakeries or the bakery department of my local grocery store. I’ve been known to make chocolate cupcakes on a whim and disguise it as a treat for my family when in actuality I just want an accomplice to my cake eating!  For years I've dreamed of bringing these sweets to the bath, and with our new (calorie-free!) bath cupcakes that dream has become a reality!

For our first line of bath cupcakes, I was inspired by my favorite classic flavors. Chocolate was the first on my list. What is more luxurious than bathing in chocolate? I love using this bath cupcake because it makes me smell sooo good all day! If you prefer, it’s like a big tub of cocoa, this treat is for you.

The second one I knew I had to include was Lemon. This fresh, light citrus paired with creamy vanilla is perfect for summer. I like using Lavender body lotion for a delightful layered scent after a nice soak in a bath with the Lemon bath cupcake. It's light and refreshing! Don’t know if you’ve noticed but the pairing of lemon and lavender is everywhere!

Third on my list was Strawberry Shortcake. I've always been a fan of strawberries and wanted to make a bath product that really smelled like those fresh fruits mixed with sweet vanilla cream. Reminds me of when I was a little girl, I’d love fresh strawberries on white cake.  Delicious!  I find that it pairs really well with our Let's Get Naked body lotion. Fruity & delicious!

Finally, I wanted to include a flavor that would be a little more sophisticated. I decided on White Chocolate Raspberry. Mixing fresh Raspberry with the lighter scent of White Chocolate makes for a perfectly balanced sweet treat!  Like a fancy restaurant dessert but in your tub! Yes, Please!

I hope you will take the time for many restorative, relaxing baths as we near bath season this year. For a guilt-free sweet tooth fix, I recommend trying all 4 of our new Bath Cupcakes! They're super cute, to boot!

Finding my inspiration in Switzerland

Posted by Jonathan Hinshaw on Thursday, July 10, 2014

I just returned from Switzerland. While I was there, I spent some time in the beautiful gardens and found new floral essences which have inspired me. My mind is going crazy with all the possibilities!

Sometimes, a strong floral scent can be overwhelming. I was amazed while walking around in the gardens how balanced the scent is in nature. Layers of floral notes compliment each other, along with the fresh earth and dewy grass notes. For a perfumer, blending these scents in a fragrance is a delicate art, but God's green earth has already perfected it.

I'm looking forward to developing new fragrances and blends for future Enfusia products. Meticulously searching for the right blends of exotic and familiar, or sweet and spicy, is so fun when I find a great fragrance, like our Rose Ylang-Ylang scent. Let's Get Naked is another one that was so fun to create - so many layers of scent! Fresh grapefruit, apple, strawberry, tangerine, peach, black currant, rose petals...

I can't wait to share with you my next creations. Stay tuned to see what's coming next!

Hatching Fizzy Bath Eggs

Posted by Jonathan Hinshaw on Thursday, April 17, 2014

Easter is a busy time at Enfusia! Every day is spent making hundreds of fizzy bath eggs. We love these little guys - so cute, and perfect for a kid's bath time! Every one is lovingly hand-made and hand-packaged.

We start by carefully measuring out our dry and liquid ingredients.

Then it's to the mixer! We have several mixers going to keep up with demand. Here, Diana monitors a batch and makes sure everything comes together properly.

Once the mixture is ready, it must be put in the molds immediately. Patty is a master at it!

Then, the eggs cure in their molds overnight. Mornings at Enfusia are super busy! Every bath bomb must be taken out of its mold and send to packaging.

Every egg is foil-wrapped for cuteness & protection. The foil keeps the bath bombs clean & fresh on their way to the store. Yazmin makes sure the foil neatly covers every bath egg.

We like to mix and match colors, they're all so pretty!

Once they make it into the circular egg crates, they're ready to go out the door!

Each Eggbomb crate comes with 6 lemongrass fizzy egg bombs. These are only available for a limited time!
